ASCORBIC ACID

                                                  


Ascorbic acid and L-ascorbic acid is a vitamin found particularly in citrus fruits and green vegetables. It is essential in maintaining healthy connective tissue, and is also thought to act as an antioxidant.




Vitamin C for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It helps the body make collagen, an important protein used to make skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Vitamin C is needed for healing wounds, and for repairing and maintaining bones and teeth.




C6H8O6 is the chemical formula of ascorbic acid. Note that it is an organic acid and thus is a weak acid too. It has 6 carbon atoms, 8 hydrogen atoms, and 6 oxygen atoms in its one molecule.
