TIBETAN TRADITION OF SKY BURIAL

Tibetan tradition of sky burial, Russell O. Bush discovered the private ritual had been turned into a tourist attraction by the Chinese government.

The body is kept at home for three days, and then brought to the monastery where a monk says prayers. From here, the corpse is taken for Sky Burial and the monk splits the corpse into pieces before the vultures arrive.

It is believe that a dead body is "pure" if the person had done good deeds, and will be consumed by the vultures so the soul will be able to be freed from the body to go to heaven or be reincarnated.. And if a person has committed sins their dead bodies will be avoided by the birds and will not be cleanly consumed and their soul will be trapped in the rotting bodies and go to hell.
